Join the Wikipedia editing community in person or online! Have you ever wondered where the information on Wikipedia comes from? Have you ever seen something on a Wikipedia article that wasn't correct and wanted to fix it? Join experienced Wikimedian Jamie Flood to learn the basics of editing Wikipedia.

• Create a username
• Learn the best practices and rules for editors
• Get editing with some basic corrections and additions
  • add citation links

  • correct grammatical or spelling errors
  • Add pictures to articles

If you are already familiar with editing Wikipedia but could use some help on more in-depth editing, Jamie will be available throughout the day to assist!

Jamie Flood has been a Wikipedian for nine years and the Wikipedian-in-Residence at NAL for 5 years. She is one of the co-organizers for the Wikimedians of Indiana User Group. Additionally, she was the community manager for the WMF-funded View it! tool which was the newcomer "Coolest Tool" in 2024 and recently served as the program chair for WikiConference North America 2024.

You can attend this event either in-person in the Research Alliance (MSU Library room 324), or virtually via Webex.
